IF YOU ARE THE OWNER OF YOUR BUSINESS AND YOU HAVE NOT RECEIVED HELP, YOU CAN APPLY FOR A RISE LOAN
A loan from Miami-Dade County is now prioritizing small businesses that have not received federal or state stimulus aid to recover from the economic impact of COVID-19. It is managed through the Dade County Federal Credit Union and other community financial inclusion institutions.
The RISE Miami-Dade Fund, which draws on a $ 25 million fund from the CARES Act, was approved by the County Commission on June 2, and had the main impulse of Eileen Higgins, Commissioner of District 5.
In the first days that the loan has been available, more than 400 applications have been received.
This comes at a key moment to save jobs and rescue the owners of those businesses such as restaurants, which are experiencing a reduction in their profits due to the new restrictions to stop the advance of the pandemic.
Annie Wilkinson, executive vice president of the Dade County Federal Credit Union, the entity that will be in charge of managing the RISE fund, indicated that the objective is to benefit those small businesses that did not obtain the Payment Protection Loan (PPP) or the Administration of Small Business (SBA).
They also aim to help businesses that didn’t get money because they have a low credit score.
